What to expect about
the trip to Timisoara

Expect very warm weather, even heat in some days of week 20 – 25 of June. Don’t forget about the sunscreen (bring your own or buy it here – there is a DM store downtown, in Victoria square)

From the airport to the city, you have three options:

1. Express Bus E4 that will take close to the city center (see more details at e4 Route: Schedules, Stops & Maps – Aeroport Traian Vuia ⟶ Bastion (Updated) (moovitapp.com)
2. Taxi – you can book a taxi or find one in front of the airport (white cars with specific inscriptions). Please check with the driver if you can pay with your card before you got in the car. The cost should be no more than 10 EUR (50 lei).
3. Uber is also available at Timișoara Airport, so you can enjoy a convenient and comfortable ride to wherever you need to go.

Do not exchange money in the airport, unless you really need to. We recommend authorized exchange offices; they are safe and offer better rates than banks. Also, avoid exchanging at the hotels. One Euro is the equivalent of about 4.9 lei.

Please note: Normally, exchange offices do not impose a tax on exchanging operations (look for „Comision 0”.

Payment in euro is not possible but you can pay with your card almost everywhere.

The conference venue is very close to the major/recommended hotels. If your accommodation is farther, you can find public transportation – from where you are, you should reach the Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral and walk 10 minutes to the Conference Venue. Registration and all conference activities and events are in one place: the main building of the West University of Timisoara (Parvan no 4). Registration will be open starting with Tuesday, 21^st from 13:00 PM (exception for the participants in the workshop on Monday and Tuesday).

Wifi is available at the Confence Venue (eduroam or guest).

All lunches are in the Conference Venue area (across the street).

For the social events, only one of the locations needs to call a taxi (the Gala Dinner); the other two are easily reachable by foot (check the conference website).

Don’t hesitate to ask our volunteers about everything that you may need. They will be wearing yellow ECIS 2022 t-shirts.
